Mullaithivu

On 26 January, SL armed forces captured the last major town held by LTTE, Mullaithivu. This was seen in India with nonchalance at most quarters most notably by the media. However it is pertinent to note that the IPKF had taken the same town almost 20 years ago almost to the date at a huge cost. No one seems to remember the war which IPKF fought whose goals were not clear.However, suffice to say that Indian Army generally played by the books and lived upto its finest traditions in war in which it was derided by the Sri Lankan government, and when they came home were seen with colored glasses. This is my tribute to those who fought valiantly and fairly.
