Apna Time Aayega
Gully Boy at its most simplest is a tale about a talented man of the Mumbai slums who makes it big in music. He gets his girl too. But to say that is to merely scrape the surface of this movie which has all the vibes of making it to a cult movie. It is about an India that is always visible in front of us but that which we chose to look through. It is about human stories of drug peddlars, wannabes, the super crazy and more. It is also a social commentary. It is about role of women in our society. It is about the super rich. It is about the super poor and their divide. It is music in motion. Its a love story too real to be a fairy tale. But more than any of these its a story about human determination. The cinematography is superb to say the least. Its an immediate connect to anyone who has ever lived in Mumbai. But most of all it has a happy ending, thankfully.
