Birds of Neyyar Dam: Loten's Sunbird
The Loten's Sunbird (Cinnyris lotenius) is endemic to the peninsular India and is decidedly very difficult to photograph thanks to its very small size and almost restless foraging habit. I spotted a large flock of the birds on a Gulmohur tree in the Neyyar Dam. My initial attempts to photograph were unsuccessfully however I used the brute force of my camera's capability of a very rapid burst and the 22x superzoom to get about 150 odd photographs of which three (slightly cropped) photos I present here.
