Kannur: St Angelo's Fort

Kannur, out of the routine tourist circuit of Kerala, boasts of a large Fort, St Angelo's Fort. Its ramparts are still impressive even after 500 years. The fort was claimed by the Portuguese, Dutch, Arakkal rajas and Britishers before finally being ruled by Independent India in its chequered history of over 500 years.
