Port Blair: Ross Island

Ross Island was the administrative centre for the Andaman Islands where Britishers and other Europeans lived. It had minimal Indian population mostly servants and some shopkeepers. In its hey day it vied for the title of 'Paris of the East' along with Pondycherry, Saigon and perhaps a few others. Today it is an island under the care of Indian Navy with dilapidated ruins speaking of an opulent if short lived past and populated by feral deers, peacocks and numerous other animals. Although, it is just a 10 minute ferry ride from Port Blair, a slight bad weather makes the seas so rough that the ferry services are cancelled.

Overgrown trees what once was a house

A completely dilapidated  house looking majestic with overgrown trees
